Insurance increase upsets special education aides
Jackie Murphy, a special education aide at New Albany High School, addressed the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Board Monday night during the board's meeting with a tone of frustration and disappointment. She said nearly every aide in the corporation was paying a $130 premium for a family of four, but now special education aides pay $239 and other aides, including media and instructional aides, pay $56.
