Floyd County's budget slashed by $1 million

The county had submitted a budget of $14,187,620, but had to cut it to $12,936,416 according to Floyd County Auditor Teresa Plaiss. With only a few days to make the cut, officials eliminated the rent line item from the budget and will use Economic Development Income Tax funds to make the rent payment. The DLGF cut the submitted budget because it does not believe the county has enough revenue coming in to support a $14 million budget
