Man looking for history of Rose Island

Tom Chapman is compiling recollections of Rose Island. Mr. Chapman intends to produce a video of oral histories. Rose Island began in 1923 and has stopped operating by the 1937 flood. The park featured cottages, a hotel, ice factory, power plant, merry-go-round and zoo. One manmade feature that remains is the large swimming pool . People arrived at Rose Island by steamboat. The site will soon become part of the Charlestown State Park.
