Furniture, liquor stores damaged in downtown New Albany fire

New Albany firefighters were called to the 400 block of State St. to a fire which destroyed a furniture business and damaged another business. Cause remains under investigation; no injuries reported. Ron Knasel, manager of the liquor store, said he had been on the scene watching the fire all night, but was only allowed inside later to recover some records. Photographs accompany the article
