Group to help streamline disaster efforts in So. Indiana

The Southern Indiana Community Organizations Active in Disaster, or SINCOAD, encompasses three counties -- Clark, Floyd and Harrison; it is a grant-funded project paid through the Indiana Association of United Ways from funding received following the January storm. SINCOAD received near the maximum amount available in disaster assistance; up to $100,000 can be awarded per county. "We would go where needed ... that frees up first-responders"
