Hoopin' with heart

Several emergency service organizations from around the area entered teams in the 2010 Hoops for Heros Third Annual Charity Basketball Tournament. Louisville Metro Corrections and the U.S. Army Reserves made the trip across the river to get in on the double elimination tournament which benefits the Frank C. Denzinger Foundation. Floyd County Corrections Officer Andrew Sands, one of the organizers, said the event has raised about $12,000 in the last two years; he was hopeful that it would raise upwards of $5,000 this year as well.
