Local woman sentenced to 51 months for Medicaid fraud
Peggy Bisig worked as a part-time office manager at the Cancer Care Center in New Albany. She admits to skimming $140,000 from the Center by submitting inflated claims to Medicaid.. Ms. Bisig paid kickbacks to nurses for patient referrals to her company Home Pharm-Assist Inc. Ms. Bisig overcharged by hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars for medical products from January 1997 until December 2000.. Ms. Bisig defrauded the Cancer Care Center of $50,000 and paid nurses there for referring patients for expensive home intravenous equipment and supplies.. The U.S. District Judge has ordered Ms. Bisig to make more than $1.9 million in restitution payments.
