Getting ready for change
New Albany-Floyd County schools prepare to move from block scheduling this fall. In an effort to save nearly $1 million, New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation officials are gearing up to eliminate block scheduling -- and nearly 20 teachers in the process. Dave Rarick, director of safety and public information officer, said the actual number of cuts will depend on attrition and retirements. Though he said the corporation plans to reduce its teaching force by 19.58 full-time equivalent teachers
