Garner: Scribner Place 'good project for New Albany'

New elected Mayor James Garner is supportive of the planned development in downtown New Albany at Pearl and Main Streets. Scribner Place will include a YMCA, an indoor swimming complex, a public plaza and two private buildings. An environmental cleanup of the site that was estimated at $100,000 will now cost $480,000 because it has been in use since the 1830's. The city is applying for grants.
