With the possible continuation of the current transportation bill and funding in President Barack Obama's budget submitted to Congress with money set aside for infrastructure projects of national importance, the bridges project could acquire portions of its $4.1 billion price tag from the federal government. There is no certainty that the Louisville and Southern Indiana Bridges Authority could get the funding or that it will still be available once a plan has been determined. The current plan is the status of the bridges funding and other options that may be available to build two bridges across the Ohio River and reconstruct Spaghetti Junction in Louisville
