Frustration mounts without strategy
Many homes moved to Linden Meadows subdivision in New Albany continue to sit uninhabited, with boarded up windows and doors and muddy lawns. The sub-par conditions of the houses and a defaulted loan owed to PNC Bank led the state to stop construction at Linden Meadows last year. The administration has been trying to work out a deal for a private entity to take over the failed neighborhood. Only first-time home buyers were eligible for a Linden Meadows house; a family of four's combined yearly income had to be less than $47,000 for them to qualify. Photograph accompanies the article
