Surprise move: Commissioners dissolve county's Emergency Management Board

"Officials have been searching for a new director of Floyd County's Emergency Management, but the council that selects a person has been dissolved". Dr. John Reisert, Pres. of Floyd Co. Board of Commissioners, said the Emergency Management Advisory Board was 'improperly constituted', so the commission will dissolve the board and form another.. "Alden Taylor, general counsel for the State Emergency Management Agency, said the action of the commissioners is a first in the state...he also questions whether the commission has the authority to dissolve the board.". Reisert said he will consult with Floyd County attorney Max Mason Jr.
