Overton makes changes to city's development departments

"Overton has reassigned City Controller W. Gregg LaMar to the post of Redevelopment/Economic Development director; in that post, LaMar will head the Redevelopment Commission...Since (Carl) Malysz' firing (in November), John Rosenbarger was promoted to acting director of the departments (Planning and Redevelopment). Rosenbarger will now become the full-time Planning director.. "Scott Wood, who has also worked in the city's Redevelopment and Planning departments for several years, has been appointed to be the full-time Chief Planner. Overton also said she plans to hire a city planner for the Planning department....". "With the new reassignments, Overton said the Redevelopment and Planning departments will be separate.". Some of the Redevelopment Commission members are not happy with the changes and with the way in which the changes were made.
