Price: I won't hold up masterplan

Scribner Place phase two details future zoning and land use from East Sixth Street to the Sherman Minton Bridge. The city's Plan and Redevelopment commissions passed the blueprint, but language in the original document that called for the possible relocation of a historic tank on the VFW's East Fifth Street property caused some consternation among the council members and the veteran's club. A multi-million dollar parking garage and plaza near the Floyd County branch of the YMCA of Southern Indiana is considered a centerpiece for attracting developments for phase two; that garage cound depend on public tax dollars. There are preliminary indicators that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers could offer a matching grant to the city to help fund the plaza
