Officials finding problems with new fire station

The new fire station at East Fourth and Main streets: there is painting that needs to be completed, tile that needs to be placed in several parts of the fire station and the exhaust system in the engine room is not the correct system. Firefighters have also not been able to use a tower that is supposed to allow firehoses to dry; the tower does not have racks or equipment to hoist the hose. Downspouts that should have been tunneled underground, instead will send water onto the ramp that fire engines use to exit onto Spring Street; in the winter, the water will freeze and could be hazardous. Other problems noted.
