Valley View nieghborhood rejects relocated houses

The New Albany Housing Authority owns 40 homes in the Valley View area. 25 of the 65 homes are privately owned. Residents voted against the mayor's plan to move the homes to the park area in the neighborhood.The mayor wanted to use local matching funds to raise millions of dollars in state and federal grants for housing rehabilitation that the residents say is needed. The money would also be put toward first-time home buying and other affordable housing in the city.
