Stimulus dollars paying for signal coordination downtown

The construction warnings along East Market and Spring Streets in New Albany signify the beginning of a project that will modernize traffic lights along the route. Federal stimulus money is funding the replacement of mast arms, controllers and signals for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. When completed by May or June, the new loop will keep motorists from having to floor the gas pedal to make it through the downtown traffic lights before one of the signals turns red
