Report: Indiana has high child abuse, neglect rates

A new report shows Indiana had the eight highest rate of child deaths from abuse and neglect in 2007. The report from the nonprofit group Every Child Matters shows 3.35 of every 100,000 children in Indiana died from abuse and neglect that year; that's up 15 percent from the 2001 rate. The report says 354 Indiana children died from abuse and neglect from 2001 to 2007 -- more than 50 a year
