Resident discovers law affecting local billboard issue

The research of a local resident turned up a state requirement that forced the Floyd County Board of Zoning Appeals to postpone action on a proposed billboard along U.S. 150.. William Smock, a FC resident concerned about billboards on Hwy. 111 South near his home, researched the issue and found language in the state administrative code requires a permit for billboard construction on interstate highways and also lists a number of U.S. and state roads including the section of U.S. 150 from I-64 as it winds northwest through Floyd County.
