Town gets 60-day break on sewer hike

New Albany City Council said certain benchmarks have to be met. The New Albany City Council will wait at least 60 days before deciding whether or not to raise Georgetown's sewer rate. Town 'in too deep' to abandon plans for a plant now. The average Georgetown bill is now around $80 per household; Georgetown pays New Albany nearly $15,000 a month, and spends $85,000 a month to operate its own collection system
