Study: Some teens have high risk for transmitting STDs
Researchers who tracked sexually active teenage girls in Indianapolis found about half had at least one sexually transmitted infection within two years of first having sex -- a conclusion they say reinforces the need to educate teens sooner about sex. Out of 381 girls between 14 and 17 half had sex by age 14, while half of all the study's participants had at least one of three sexually transmitted infections -- chlamydia, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis. This study and other research reflects the need to educate teens sooner about the risks of sexual activity
