S. Ellen Jones Neighborhood was selected for a $6.75 million federal grant to revamp foreclosed homes in the area. New Albany is purchasing and rehabilitating 40 foreclosed or abandoned houses in SEJ, and could also build up to 10 more homes with the Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant. England's administration and State Rep. Ed Clere were credited by Indiana officials for pushing for the grant and convincing IHCDA that S. Ellen Jones Neighborhood was a worthy selection for the money
