Pillars of New Albany

When they bought their first building in downtown New Albany just over a decade ago, Matt and Jessica Bergman saw a vision for what the area could become. They didn't realize what the city would come to mean to them. Thursday night, the Bergmans were awarded the Pillar Renaissance Award, for their revitalization of the Historic Switow Building, in downtown. They were among five Pillar Award recipients at this year's Develop New Albany annual meeting and Pillar Awards at TheatreWorks of Southern Indiana, given to distinguishing community members and organizations making a difference in downtown.
