Accidents

A distressing accident occurred at the farm of Mr. James K. Harman, Georgetown township, yesterday afternoon. Mr. H. had been out with his buggy from home, and on his return gave it in charge of his two sons, aged 10 and 14 years respectively, for the purpose of putting the horse in the stable. The boys started, when a hog run under the horses, at which they took fright and started off in a run. One of the boys immediately leaped out, while the other held on manfully to the reins until a wheel of the buggy was run against a tree, throwing young Harman violently to the ground, breaking his leg just above the ankle. He was taken up by his father and carried into the house, and Dr. Kirkwood summoned, who dressed the wounded leg. The fracture is a severe one, and will confine him for a long time, but it is hoped will not result in permanent injury. The boy is a bright, manly little fellow, and has the sympathy of a number of neighbors in his affliction.. Sat. June 7 pg. 4 col. 1: The little son of Mr. Harmon, who had his leg broken near Georgetown, is rapidly recovering.
