Elected school board?

Vote to change process could be as soon as May. Petition to have elected school board has been certified by county clerk's office; it's now in the hands of the school board, which can "decide to develop its own referendum proposal, support the current petition or take no action on the petition at all"; then petition will go the State Dept. of Education to make sure it meets all state requirements; after state approval, the referendum will be placed on the ballot.
