Righting Wrongs: Marker added to recognize unmarked graves of Black people

Teri Popp, manager of the Catholic Cemeteries of New Albany, said a person deserves a grave marker once they are laid to rest. And while those Black departed weren't given the proper emblem to signify that they lived and died just like White people who are buried in the same cemetery, Popp and others corrected those wrongs with the installation of a large, marble stone cross near their graves.
