Died, in this city, on Sunday morning, Aug. 4th, WILLIAM K I R K W O O D , aged 74 years. Mr. Kirkwood came to this country from Ireland about the year 1800. He resided in Louisville, Ky., a number of years, and settled in this city in 1830, where he continued to reside up to the day of his death. Having joined the Methodist Episcopal church in early life, and before leaving his native land, he lived and died in the faith of the Christian religion. For more than fifty years he was an exemplary member of this denomination of Christians. He was a man of strong sympathies, and regarded by all who knew him as a gentleman of the strictest integrity in all the relations of life. But he has gone, full of years and full of honors, and his numerous friends and relatives have the most undoubted evidence that their loss will be his great gain. Thc funeral will take place from his residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The friends and acquaintances of the lamily are invited to attend, M a s o n i c N o t i c e. THE members of New Albany Lodge, No. 39, and Jefferson Lodge, No. 104, will meet at their hall on State street, at half paat twelve o'clock to day, for the purpose of attending the funeral of Bro. William Kirkwood, deceased. Brethren in good standing from other Lodges are respectfully invited to be present.
