Drowned
A little boy, named George Dennis, the son of a widow lady, was drowned yesterday evening in the river opposite Twomey's mill. He was engaged in assisting the logman at the mill in floating logs to the ways, when he fell into the river, and was carried by the strong current under a large raft. His body has not been found yet. His mother reached the river a few moments after her boy was drowned, and her agonizing cries, when she learned his fate, appalled the strongest heart.
