Distressing Accident

About eleven o'clock this forenoon Eddy, a little son of Mr. C. Fox, Councilman from the First Ward, was run over by a street railroad car near Upper Twelfth street, and very seriously injured. It seems the child was playing in the street opposite Miss Woodford's school, which he was attending, when the car came along, running over the lower part of his body, breaking his leg, as is feared, and very seriously injuring the side. Owing to the intense agony of the little sufferer, the surgeons deferred an examination of the extent of the injuries till three o'clock this afternoon. Great fears are entertained that the child cannot survive. He is a bright little boy, greatly beloved by his schoolmates and all who know him. In this serious affliction Mr. and Mrs. Fox will have the warmest sympathies of their numerous friends.
