Life Like Portrait

One of the most life like portraits to be seen in this city is that of Mr. Thomas Boardman, in Maienthal's show window. It is as true as a photograph, and like all the work of New Albany's talented young artist, Mr. Ferd. G. Walker, is done with a conscientious truth to nature. At his studio on East Spring street, Mr. Walker has portraits of a number of well known New Albanians, painted in the style of art which presents things as they are. He also has some landscapes, scenes around the city, which should be seen by every lover of the beautiful in nature pictured in art. One of his landscapes, now hanging in a private residence where it is much admired, represents a scene on Silver Creek and is in its conception and faithfulness to detail, one of the finest paintings in the city.
