Chief Merker's fire buggy demolished

The alarm from box 7, Wednesday afternoon, was caused by a burning flue at the Streepy residence on West First street, between Market and Spring. The alarms from 4 and 3 shortly after were caused by the burning of a shed near the Rail Mill. The fire buggy of Chief Merker was demolished by the hook and ladder truck in going down Seventh street hill to the latter fire.
