Fire, police budgets still in limbo
A request by the administration to boost New Albany public safety budgets with up to $2 million in reserve funds this year will have to wait at least one more meeting. The bill's sponsor -- City Councilman Bob Caesar -- said he's "comfortable that no action is going to be taken" until New Albany receives its certified 2010 budget and tax rate. The ordinance calls for up to $2 million in Economic Development Income Tax dollars to back the fire and police budgets this year, and was defeated on first reading before being tabled by Caesar
