Going up?

A part of Vectren Corporation filed a petition with the Indiana utility regulators asking for a natural gas rate increase. The average bill would increase about 7%. This would affect New Albany and Jeffersonville. The base rate has not been adjusted in 13 years according to a Vectren executive. Vectren buys gas on the wholesale market; regulatory restrictions keep the utility from making a profit on gas costs.
