Grant will help expand learning opportunities in area

A grant will be used to develop a new logistics and technology distribution program at Ivy Tech State College. It is possible to earn a career certificate in five 3-hour courses. This certificate can be applied towards a business administration associates degree. Courses are being developed using two-way video technology. Local leaders met with schools and businesses to identify sources that would make the area more competitive. Developing a new career certificate was one of the ideas. Some grant money will go to the Work One Center as well as the Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce which has distance-learning capabilities.
