Filling-in the pieces

As part of a pilot project where C.C.E. uses tire chips as fill material, a committee of IOWPA volunteers installed several pieces of machinery to assist the company including an infiltrator tank and recycled tire fingers. Proponents of tire chips say they hold more water than more conventional fill materials such as stone. The purpose of the project is to get tire chips approved statewide, as the Indiana State Health Department have allowed C.C.E. to install Ruber Rok in the residential septic tanks, according to company officials
