Floyd County's volunteer firefighters deserve praise

Greenville's fire department was established in 1945, with about 25 firefighters. There are two stations: No. 1 in downtown, No. 2 on Hwy. 150 new Galena. List of names and years of service: Fire Chief Herb (12); Deputy Chief Gerry (23); Assistant Chief Doug (22); Captains Jason (10) and Kevin (7); Lieutenants Jesse (8) and Matt (7); and Medical Officer Joey (6).
