G-town site in BZA's hands

The Floyd County Board of Zoning Appeals heard pros and cons for a proposed Georgetown sewer plant for more than three hours Monday night at a special meeting. The proposed site on 75.4 acres is currently zoned rural residential; Georgetown has asked the BZA for a variance in order to build the plant on the property which is in Georgetown Township. The item was tabled at the Nov. 9 meeting because improper notification was given to residents in the area. Georgetown was recently awarded a $3.5 million grant through federal stimulus funds to build a wastewater treatment facility
