Man receives 50-year sentence in violent home invasion

A Louisville man was sentenced to 46 years in prison and four years probation for the violent home invasion and robbery of a New Albany couple. James W. Roberson pleaded guilty to class A felony robbery resulting in serious bodily injury. On Jan. 9 two men allegedly approached the couple at their residence on the 1800 block of Conservative Street and demanded money; one of the men shoved the female victim to the ground and broke her leg -- her husband was reportedly Tased 30 times. The victims said Roberson had been renting property from them and they told him he had to leave. Photograph of James Roberson accompanies the article
