Ground broken for new fire house
The new station will be built on 2.4 acres of land south of County Line Road along Charlestown Road, across from Walgreens; it will replace the New Chapel station at 4211 Chapel Lane, which was built in the 1960s and will be torn down when the state widens Grant Line Road. The new station will cost $2 million and should be completed in six to nine months. New Chapel Fire Chief Jamey Noel talks to the crowd prior to Monday's groundbreaking for a new fire house.
