Hunter named New Albany fire chief

Mayor-elect James Garner has named a staff that will head the fire department.. Matt Hunter has been named chief; James Gream is deputy chief in charge of personnel; and James Kron is deputy chief in charge of training.. Chief Hunter said morale and training will be emphasized; deputy chief Gream wants to concentrate on physical fitness and the promotion system; and deputy chief Kron will address training. Deputy Chief Kron was instrumental in establishing the State Fire School and has served as its chairman for 13 years.
