Having a heart for education

With many school corporations already struggling financially prior to the state announcing further cuts in funding, one local school board member decided to do something about it. Lee Ann Wiseheart, vice president of the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation board organized a Valentine's Day dinner, held a day early on Feb. 13 at Wooded Glen Retreat and Conference Center, in Henryville. Tickets for the event, dubbed Wise Hearts 4 Kids, are $25 per person, with $15 of that going to a local school corporation of that person's choice.
