Fair time

Keith Redden, president of the 4-H Corp. board that organizes the fair, said this year's event, which kicks off Monday, will feature a midway in addition to two new attractions: Elephant encounters and lawn mower races. The rest of the regular events will be back, including the animal shows, queen pageant, donkey races and eating contests. Redden said the fair averages an attendance of 25,000; he's hoping that's even higher this year, due to the new events. Photographs accompany the article
