Man arrested trying to pass forged check

Joseph L. Major was taken into custody at 1 p.m. at the drive-up window at Main Source Bank located at State and Spring Streets after he presented the check payable in the amount of $200 to a teller. The teller previously learned that the check had been reported stolen by another Main Source customer. Major was taken to the Floyd County Jail where he was booked in on preliminary charges of theft [possession of stolen property]. a class D felony, and forgery, a class C felony
