Flood waters push sewage into homes. City crews focusing on removing debris from waterways. Tuesday morning record downpours sent city and Floyd County rescue personnel scurrying to respond to trapped motorists, flooded homes and fire alarms. Another round of rainfall Tuesday afternoon only complicated flooding issues. The city council voted by a 5-4 count Monday to increase stormwater fees as a means to bringing in an additional $800,000 a year in revenue; that money would go toward capital improvement projects.
