Preparing to make budget cuts

Another year of flat-lined revenue while costs increase may cause the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation to cut about $2 million from the 2010 general fund, which mostly is used to pay salaries. The board is slated to hold a public hearing on the budget in October. The corporation must pay for increased health care costs, salary increments, increasing energy charges and other inflationary pressures
