Preliminary work on plant begins Monday
Construction will begin on Georgetown's wastewater treatment facility Monday. There were several legal and funding issues that stood in the way of Georgetown getting its own plant, as the Floyd County town has relied on New Albany for sewer treatment. Last year, State Rep. Ed Clere helped secure a $3.5 million federal stimulus grant that will cover most of the project. The facility will sit on a 75.4-acre site west of the town in the Georgetown Township
