Tourism board issues continue

The Clark-Floyd Convention and Tourism Bureau's Board of Managers is made up of 13 members appointed by the mayor of New Albany (4); mayor of Jeffersonville (3); the Clark County Commissioners (3); the Clarksville Town Council (2); and the Floyd County Commissioners (1). One of the difficulties seems to be determining if the appointees meet the qualification s to serve on the tourism board, in terms of the state statute. Determining the political affiliation of a particular candidate for the tourism board is very difficult; Indiana maintains an open primary system, in which a voter does not have to declare a party affiliation to vote in a specific political primary
