Sprucing up the school grounds

Photo: Stephanie Bennett's third-grade class at Lillian Emery Elem. School recently made their surroundings more beautiful. The class raised $100 from a four-day bake sale and used the money to buy a red sunset maple tree from Rogers & Son Garden Center. The tree, planted by Brent Rogers, was put in the spot where two portable classrooms once stood. While he planted the tree for the students yesterday, Rogers gave them a lesson on planting and caring for trees.
