Unemployment rises in Louisville Metro

More than 7,800 Clark and Floyd residents receiving food stamps. According to a U.S. Department of Labor study released Wednesday, Louisville Metro -- which includes Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana -- posted a jobless mark of 10.3 percent in October. The duration of unemployment for many former workers will still keep jobless rates high. Factoring discouraged workers and employees only receiving part-time hours, the unemployment rate for Indiana is probably more like 17 percent
