Accidents

Mr. Jacob Missey, an old resident of this city, met with a serious accident this afternoon at his place of business on State street. It appears that Mr. Missey started to walk over a floor which was wet and slippery from recent scrubbing, and in stepping over an irregularity at the door slipped, and falling with his foot under his body, broke his leg, immediately above the ankle. The fracture was reduced by Dr. Clapp, and Mr. Missey was resting as easy as could be expected at two o'clock this evening. Mr. M.'s advanced age makes the accident a more serious matter than it would be in the case of a younger man.
